DG Speaks 10.0 Highlights: It is the 10th unbroken edition, thank you all for making it possible “DG Rtn.Olufemi Adenekan,” says

In the 10th edition of DG Speaks, Rotarian Olufemi Adenekan, the pioneer district governor of Rotary International District 9112, referred to this online gathering as the “10th unbroken edition.” He expressed heartfelt gratitude to all participants, especially those who have consistently attended every session. Special thanks were extended to the Public Image Chair and anchor, Rotarian Ehi Ibrahimoh, co-anchor Rotarian Temitayo Ayorinde, and the Media team. He remarked, “Thank you all for your devotion, dedication, and commitment.”

DG Rtn. Olufemi encouraged Rotarians to persevere in doing good and striving for excellence. He emphasized the importance of caring for one another and extending support to those who may be facing significant challenges in society.

Following his welcome address, he proceeded to provide updates on the state of the district.

Key Highlights from DG Speaks 10:

Membership: The district has grown from 2,144 members across 73 clubs to 2,386 members across 77 clubs, marking a gain of 242 members. We look forward to the formation of even more new clubs, and we extend our gratitude to all clubs working diligently toward this goal. Special thanks to the chair of the New Club Development Committee, Rtn. Dr. Bukunola Soile Balogun. I encourage efforts in new club formation, and if you encounter any challenges, please do not hesitate to reach out to her.

Retention and Engagement: We extend our gratitude to the clubs that have successfully grown their memberships and have not experienced reductions. Encouragement is a vital aspect of Rotary. While we have been stating that our membership stands at 1.2 million, we should have surpassed this figure. Unfortunately, we are facing a “leaking basket,” where while some members are added, others are being let go. Our goal is to achieve significant gains before the end of the Rotary year.

Rotary Foundation: Our current contributions total $183,254.50, with approximately $60 allocated to Polio Plus and about $120,000 to the Annual Fund. It poses a risk to our mission if we stop supporting the Rotary Foundation. I urge everyone to contribute, no matter how small. Some clubs have yet to donate to Polio Plus, so please contribute something, even if it is minimal. I kindly ask those who made pledges to fulfill them, and I would like to thank those who have already done so. We will support with $100 to reach a total of $1,000 and become a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF).

District Dues: A few clubs still have outstanding payments. Please settle your dues to avoid being classified as a debtor club.

Rotary International Dues: Currently, 18 clubs have not paid their second semi-annual Rotary International dues. We kindly request prompt payment.

District Grant: The distribution of the district grant will commence soon. Please provide your account details and ensure that the funds are utilized for their intended purpose.

DG Visit: As of April 8th, we have visited 70 clubs. Please remember that the DG visit positions your club for a brighter future.

Rotary Youth Exchange: Jadesola Gloria Akintayo has embarked on a one-year Rotary Youth Exchange program. There are also opportunities for exchanges to Brazil, South American countries, and India. The registration process is ongoing for participants aged between 15 and 18 years.

Rotary Friendship Exchange Outbound with District 3450: The participants are prepared for the upcoming friendship exchange, which will take place from April 15 to April 30.

District 9112 Learning Seminars/ Rotary Leadership Institute: Scheduled for April 12, 2025, this training is an excellent opportunity for professional development; we encourage your participation.

District 9112 Vocational Training Center, Epe: Our goal is to complete the building within the next three months. We welcome your support and contributions in the form of building materials, such as granite, sand, and more.

District Directory 2024-2025: The District Directory has been finalized and is now available for collection. Please ensure you pick up your copy.
