The conclusion of the Presidents-Elect Training (PET) Seminar marked the beginning of the District Training Assembly (DTA) session, which was held over two days—Saturday, April 5, 2025, and Sunday, April 6, 2025—at Orchid Hotels, located along the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Ikota, Lagos State. This training provided participants with valuable opportunities to gain the skills, insights, and knowledge essential for effectively managing their clubs during the upcoming “Unite For Good” Rotary year.
PAG Bamidele Alimi, the DTA Coordinator, emphasized the DTA’s role in developing Rotary Club leaders, stating, “The DTA enables learning and adaptation to Rotary’s evolving landscape. It’s essential for Rotarians to stay relevant and aligned with Rotary District 9112’s goals for 2025/2026.” He thanked incoming District Governor Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin and District Learning Facilitator PDG Kola Sodipo for the platform to serve, as well as his Coordinating Team, District Leaders and all participants for their commitment to serving humanity.
The training commenced with a call to order by Rotarian Olufemi Adenekan, the first District Governor of Rotary International District 9112. followed by his remarks. He stressed the importance of vibrant clubs through regular meetings, dues payment, membership growth, and service projects as well as contributions to the Rotary Foundation. He urged leaders to dedicate themselves fully to their roles, saying, “This assignment is vital—perform your duties with unwavering commitment.”
Following this, the incoming District Executive Secretary for 2025-2026, PP Omotunde Olaleye, introduced the incoming District Governor for 2025-2026, Lanre Adedoyin. Accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Iyabo Adedoyin, he took to the podium while his profile was showcased. He then shared the targets for the 2025-2026 term, beginning with a message from the Rotary International President, Mário César Martins de Camargo, from the Rotary Club de Santo André in São Paulo, Brazil.
The DTA featured insightful discussions led by experienced facilitators who imparted their extensive knowledge to Rotarians eager to remain relevant and fulfill their core mission. These Rotarians, who serve as leaders of various Rotary Clubs, were equipped with the skills, understanding, and expertise necessary to successfully manage their Clubs in the upcoming Rotary year. Additionally, the DTA included a delightful welcome party where attendees donned white attire, creating a stunning visual experience. Guests were also treated to an exquisite array of cuisine provided by Binazon Small Chops and Cocktails.
The District Learning Facilitator is PDG Kola Sodipo, with DGNG Uyi Sowobi serving as the Deputy District Learning Facilitator. Other distinguished facilitators included District Governor Nominee Layi Abidoye, Immediate Past District Governor Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie, and Past District Governors Adeniji Raji, Kamoru Omotosho, Jide Akeredolu, Deinde Shoga, Omotunde Lawson, Yomi Adewunmi, Tunji Funsho, Joshua Hassani, Remi Bello, Dele Balogun, Somo Omoniyi, and Wale Ogunbadejo, DGND Samuel Ayetutu along with PAG Antonia Taiwo and PAG Uzo Ogoazi, PAG Saheed Rasheed, AG Ehi Braimah and Atitebi Ismail Abiodun (DRR Elect)
The incoming Rotary International President for the 2025-2026 term is Mário César Martins de Camargo from the Rotary Club de Santo André in São Paulo, Brazil. A business consultant in the printing industry, Mário is a former director of Gráfica Bandeirantes, a printing company established by his father. He became a member of Rotary in 1980 at the age of 23.
The incoming District Governor for Rotary International District 9112 (2025-2026) is Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin. He earned his law degree from the esteemed University of Lagos, graduating in 1992. As a distinguished legal expert and Chartered Professional Administrator, he serves as the Principal Partner and Head of Chambers at the Law Firm of T.L. Adedoyin & Co. Lanre joined the Rotary Club of Surulere South on August 21, 2003, and served as Club President during the 2007-2008 Rotary year. Notably, he personally financed the incorporation of Rotary International District 9110 as a legal entity.
The core team for 2025-2026 term under Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin includes District Executive Secretary Past President Omotunde Olaleye, District Treasurer Assistant Governor Adedoyin Odutola, Chief of Staff Assistant Governor Akeem Sunmonu, and Special Assistant Desmond Otakponmwen.
