District Governor, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin’s Message – September 2025: Basic Education and Literacy Month “Clubs are enjoined to support Basic Education Projects such as…”

Distinguished Rotarians

Welcome to September, the month designated by Rotary International as  Basic Education and Literacy Month.

We are reminded of the critical role education plays in shaping the future of our communities, nation and the world at large.

It is a call to action  and for us to reaffirm our commitment to providing quality education and promoting literacy worldwide. Educated individuals are more likely the make informed decisions about their health and well- being.

*Let’s Make a Difference Together!*

All Rotary Clubs in District 9112 are enjoined to organize projects, programmes and initiatives that support basic education and literacy in their communities.

Some ideas include:

•Empowering individuals with knowledge, skills and critical thing.

– Tutoring or mentoring students

– Donating books or educational materials

– Supporting literacy programmes

– Advocating for education policy changes

– Civic engagement.

*Growing Membership, Supporting the Cause*

Let’s also prioritize growing our membership and supporting Rotary’s causes through basic education and literacy .

I urge all clubs to:

– Invite prospective members to join the Rotary family

– Contribute generously to The Rotary Foundation

– Support the District Educational and Welfare Endowment Fund( DEWEF)

*Create A Lasting Impact*

Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities and  work collaboratively to:

– Identify areas of need in basic education and literacy

– Develop innovative projects and initiatives

– Engage with local stakeholders and partners

* *Share Your Success Stories!*

As we undertake projects and consolidate partnerships,  it will be heartwarming to share your success stories and experiences.

This will not only inspire others but also showcase the impact of our collective efforts in consonance with our strategic priorities.

Your passion and commitment to serving humanity is truly inspiring.

Thank you.
