Following the successful Polio Eradication Awareness Walk in the Ijebu-Remo Axis on Saturday, October 18, 2025, the Lagos walk took place the following week on Saturday, October 25, and also enjoyed considerable success.
This event depicted District 9112’s style of commemorating the “October 24- World Polio Day”, done to promote awareness for polio eradication.
This video showcases the District 9112 Lagos State Polio Eradication Awareness Walk, which brought together a vibrant group of Rotarians and Rotaractors passionate about raising awareness on polio and the urgent need to eradicate it.
District Governor Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, District Governor Elect Rotarian Layi Abidoye, Committee Chair Rotarian Adenike Abdulazeez, district leaders, Rotarians, Rotaractors, and friends of Rotary united in this advocacy effort, emphasizing the critical need to end polio now. The initiative kicked off at the Ayetoro Primary Health Center.
The awareness walk was filled with excitement, featuring lively music and dance, while children received vaccinations along the route.
Participants also paid a visit to the community leader, the Baale. Pictures and videos captured throughout the walk not only served to document the event for posterity but also contributed to the overall joyful atmosphere as they walked and worked to raise awareness about the importance of ending polio.
