District Governor, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin’s Message – February 2026: “Peace Building and Conflict Prevention And Resolution Month.…”

*DISTRICT GOVERNOR’S MESSAGE FOR FEBRUARY 2026*

Dear Distinguished Rotarians,

February is a special month for Rotary International, as it is dedicated to Peace Building and Conflict Prevention and Resolution.
The theme of the month is at the heart of Rotary’s mission, as we are reminded that peace is not just the absence of conflict but the prevalence of justice, understanding and better opportunities.

As we celebrate Rotary’s 121st anniversary, we are excited that progress is being made in promoting peace and resolving conflicts globally.

Rotary stands for a just and egalitarian society.

The organization has trained leaders and volunteers to become peace scholars, mediators and changemakers while supporting projects that foster social cohesion and meaningful engagements, in addition to providing humanitarian aid in critical areas.

Our District is poised for a memorable month.

The Rotary Foundation Fundraising Event will hold on Sunday,8th February,2026 at Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

I thank all contributors and donors to The Rotary Foundation and look forward to more support in the Rotary year.

The Rotary International President, Fransceco Arezzo, his spouse and senior Rotary leaders will be visiting Nigeria from 13th to 19th February, 2026. While in Nigeria,  District 9112 will be hosting him and his team from 13th February to 15th February.

Interesing programmes have been lined up to ensure a successful and productive visit including Town Hall meeting with Rotary leaders, Rotarians and Rotaractors, Visit to Project Site and  Dinner.

In the same vein, the Rotary Sports Festival ( ROSFEST) will hold from 9th February to 14th February. The RI President is expected to attend the Grand Finale of the event. I urge all Rotarians and Rotaractors in the District to turn out enmasse to give a befitting welcome to our August visitor.

The District Team Learning Seminar(DTLS) holds February 20 to February 21 at Orchid Hotel, Lekki,Lagos.
The World Understanding and Peace Seminar comes up at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island,Lagos on February 23,2026. It promises to be an exciting programme.

Every action, no matter how small, can make a difference in ensuring a more peaceful world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and Unite for Good.
