On Sunday, February 1, 2026, the Eti-Osa Local Government Secretariat played host to a momentous occasion – the Charter Presentation and Induction Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Lekki Gateway. This marks a significant milestone as the first Rotary Club in the Lekki-Ajah axis.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including District Governor Rtn. Lanre Adedoyin, who was accompanied by DES-PP Omotunde Olaleye and COS-PAG Akeem Sunmonu. The event featured glamorous red carpet moments, showcasing the elegance and enthusiasm of the attendees.

During the ceremony, charter members shared their inspiring reasons for joining Rotary, highlighting their commitment to community service. The Rotary Club of Lekki Gateway was proudly sponsored by the Rotary Club of Victoria Garden City, led by President Rtn. Lekan Fawumi.

In his address, District Governor Rtn. Lanre Adedoyin emphasized the importance of passionate and committed service, citing Rotary’s impactful interventions during the COVID-19 pandemic as a testament to the organization’s ability to make a difference.

The highlight of the ceremony was the official charter presentation, where the certificate was presented to the club, followed by the induction of members. Charter President Rtn. Niyi Adams expressed his honor in leading the club, stating, “Rotary is not about meetings, but about doings.” He pledged to focus on impactful service, uphold ethical standards, and contribute meaningfully to the community.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Hon. Adeola Adetoro, Chairman of Eti-Osa West Local Government (represented by Mrs. Yemisi Akintayo), and Hon. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, former Lagos State Governorship Candidate. The ceremony was anchored by Rtn. Toluse of the Rotary Club of Iponri.
