Highlights from the ROSFEST Opening Ceremony
The opening ceremony of District 9112’s ROSFEST’25 (Rotary Sports Festival) took place on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, at the Rotary Center in Ikeja GRA. The ceremony officially commenced after the pioneer District Governor of Rotary International District 9112, Rotarian Olufemi Adenkan, called the program to order.
The atmosphere was lively with music, setting the stage for various competitions including Draughts, Snooker, Ayo Olopon, Scrabble, and Chess. To get the ball rolling, the DG participated in the games. The registrants also participated in the games, while volleyball players gathered at the National Stadium.
Past President Rotarian Alozie Nsirimobi, chairman of ROSFEST’25, expressed his gratitude to the committee, press, and sponsors. He emphasized the importance of incorporating sports for mental and physical wellness among Rotarians, quoting IPDG Rotarian Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie on the power of sports to enhance hope and relaxation. He noted that ROSFEST promotes unity and aligns with Rotary’s strategic priorities.
Rotarian Olufemi Adenekan, the District Governor, highlighted ROSFEST as a valuable initiative that fosters relationships and promotes well-being among Rotarians. He thanked the Planning Committee and sponsors, sharing the success of connecting members across districts.
The event was anchored by Rotarian Emeka Ezeh, the president of the Rotary Club of Magodo Central.
