DGE Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin: “We Must Allow Our Legacy to Grow…”

These were the words of District 9112 DGE Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin as the District Team Learning Seminar (DTLS) concluded on Sunday, March 9th, 2025.

The District Governor Elect (DGE) urged all newly elected District officers for the 2025-2026 “Unite For Good” Rotary calendar year to fulfill their responsibilities, noting that any lack of performance would impede the efforts of the incumbent pioneer District Governor of District 9112, Rotarian Olufemi Adenekan.

DG, Rotarian Olufemi Adenekan extended gratitude to those who have contributed to this “Magic of Rotary,” year regardless of their scale of efforts. He encouraged attendees to embrace the roles they can fulfill and communicate to the DGE challenges so he could fix them in capable roles.

“As your first District Governor, it is my commitment to ensure success in our endeavors and to work alongside incoming District Governors to achieve this aim,” he added

DG Femi announced plans for a vocational center project aimed for completion by the end of the Rotary year.

Meanwhile, the DGE Rotarian Lanre  reiterated the DG’s words stating “If you are not prepared to serve, DG Adenekan has made it quite clear. You are welcome to approach me privately and let me know; I will accept that. *We have a legacy to uphold, and it is essential that we allow that legacy to grow.* Each Rotary year should reflect progression.”

DGE Lanre presented the RI President Elect, 2025-2026 Mario Cesar Martins De Camargo’s message and the goals for 2025-2026.

The two-day seminar took place at Orchid Hotel, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ikota, Lagos. It featured seven sessions, providing participants the opportunity to learn from various District leaders/Speakers including the DG, DGE, DGN,  Layi Abidoye, DGND, Uyi Sowobi,  PDGs Kola Sodipo, Ifeyinwa Rita Ejezie, Obafunso Ogunkeye, Wale Ogunbadejo, Deinde Shoga, Kamoru Omotosho, Bola Oyebade, Jide Akeredolu, Otunba Bola Onabadejo, Yomi Adewunmi, Joshua Hassan, Omotunde Lawson, Remi Bello, and PAG Uzo Ogoazi, PP Mike Effiong and DRRE Atitebi Ismail Abiodun.

The participants were organized in the following groups: Zonal Coordinators, Assistant Governors, District Committee Chairs, New Club Development Chairs, District Secretaries and Treasurers.

In the latter part of the seminar, various Committees shared their upcoming activities including the District Governor’s Installation scheduled for 5th July,2025 . Installation Chair, AG Tolulope Onalaja,  Discon 2025 Chair, PAG Tony Eigbokhan, Discon 2026 Chair, PAG Segun Adewakun, RYLA Chair 2025-2026 ,PAG Tayo Adelaja and the Rotary Institute/Euro African Summit Chair, AG Tawa Ayeni spoke on their plans for their various Committees.

Certificates of Participation for the District Team Learning Seminar (DTLS) of RI District 9112 were given to all participants.

The event ended on a high note with participants still relishing memories of the immense fun they had at the DTLS Ankara welcome party on Saturday evening, as well as the enriching insights garnered from the adept speakers

The District Learning Facilitator is PDG Kola Sodipo, while the Coordinator for DTLS 2025 is AG Nike Maiyaki. The Vice Coordinator for 2025 DTLS is IPP Ben Ajike, and the 2025 DTLS Secretary is Rtn. Ibijoke Popoola.
