(+Photos) Highlights from the Charter Presentation Ceremony of the Rotary Club of Akute Golden

The Rotary Club of Akute Golden warmly welcomed Rotarian Olufemi Adenekan, the pioneer district governor of Rotary International District 9112, for their Charter Presentation and Induction ceremony.

Accompanied by his spouse, Rotarian Tayo Adenekan, the DG was welcomed with a beautifully melodic song setting a vibrant tone for the event.

That was not all, the charter president, Rotarian Ameenah Lawal, along with the enthusiastic charter members, looked radiant in their elegant white attire, beautiful shoes and stunning accessories. They truly embodied a sense of royalty, even in their traditional attire.

The ceremony began with Rtn. Rebecca Agbayayo Afolabi, the president of the sponsoring club, the Rotary Club of Akute, calling the gathering to order. Members from both the Rotary Club of Akute and its first chartered club, the Rotary Club of Olambe, came together to celebrate this significant occasion.

As is customary in charter presentation ceremonies, Rotarian Ameenah Lawal was officially installed as the charter president of the Rotary Club Akute Golden. The charter members were inducted, their membership kits were distributed, and they received a comprehensive briefing about Rotary. District Governor (DG) Rotarian Olufemi Adenekan presented their charter certificate.

DG Rotarian Olufemi in his remarks extended his congratulations to the new club, expressing gratitude to the Rotary Club of Akute, particularly to Past President Benedict Ajike, for their support in establishing this new club, stating, “It is a pleasure to be here this evening to present the charter certificate of the Rotary Club of Akute Golden. I urge your club not to give up; believe in yourself and your dreams. Don’t feel intimidated by your sponsoring club. You possess the energy to thrive. I see you rising swiftly with your enthusiasm and energy. You can transform that energy into resources and effect significant change. My thanks go to PP Benedict Ajike for nurturing the formation of this new club. I sincerely appreciate the Rotary Club of Akute for their contributions, especially Rtn. Benedict Ajike.”

In a similar vein, the new club adviser, Rtn. Benedict Ajike while addressing the “Trail Blazers,” club expressed his satisfaction with the formation of the club and highlighted the importance of sponsorship, mentorship and resources in effectively leading a club.

After all has been said and done, the District Governor presented the Club Charter President, Rotarian Ameenah Lawal with a theme pin and diary to aid her in her service. Following this, she led the fellowship.

In her acceptance speech, Rotarian Ameenah Lawal expressed, “I stand before you with deep gratitude and humility as I embrace this responsibility. It is an honor to have your trust, and I am eager for the journey that lies ahead. I extend my thanks to our new club adviser, the District Governor, and our charter members. I sincerely acknowledge the outstanding leadership of my parent club, the Rotary Club of Akute. I pray for God’s guidance as we embark on this journey together with a shared vision, empathy, unwavering dedication, and commitment to our Rotary ideals. I look forward to working with all of you to steer our club toward success. Thank you, everyone. Leading in Rotary is no easy feat, but together, we can reach greater heights.”

The lively ceremony took place on Sunday, May 11 at the 1st Floor of God Is Great Plaza, opposite Prince Supermarket, at Martins Bus Stop on Alagbole-Akute Road, the location for their weekly fellowship on Sundays at 4 PM.
