District Governor, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin’s Message – August 2025: Membership & New Club Development Month “Our members are our pride, they should be…”

Fellow Rotarians, I specially welcome you to the month of August, designated by Rotary International as the Membership and New Club Development Month.

The organization has grown phenomenally over the years, grossing about 1.4 million members consisting of Rotarians and Rotaractors across the globe.

“Our members remain our pride and most important asset. They should be celebrated at all times.”

Membership growth is closely tied to Rotary International’s strategic priorities:

Increase our Impact
Expand our Reach
Enhance Participant Engagement
Increase our ability to Adapt

While we attract credible people to Rotary, we should engage them productively in order not to lose them.

We should be methodical in our approach to membership growth and development by achieving quality in quantity, exploring fresh, creative and innovative ideas.

Clubs are enjoined to adopt flexible approach in their activities, meetings and ensure Diversity, Equity and Inclusion to foster togetherness. Language should not be a barrier to the conduct of Rotary meetings.

The District target is to achieve 30% net growth, 100% engagement and form twenty five new clubs that will stand the test of time.

With the creation of a Passport Club and a Satellite Club in our District, more opportunities for expanding the frontiers of service to humanity have been provided thus enabling us to explore various membership models with a view to making our clubs vibrant.

The Membership New Club Development Seminar comes up on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

It offers an opportunity for invaluable knowledge and promises to be engaging and rewarding.

To enhance participant engagement, let Each One Bring One and Retain All.

Mankind is our Business.

Thank you as we Unite for Good.

Lanre Adedoyin, FCIA
District Governor
