District 9111 & 9112 Joint Train Ride for Polio Eradication – Highlights
Just as promised by the PolioPlus Committee led by PAG Busola Satuyi (District 9111) and PAG Adenike Abdul-Azeez, fondly known as Iya Iyawo (District 9112), the joint train ride for Polio Eradication was nothing short of spectacular — leaving participants thrilled and wishing the experience would never end.
It was indeed a memorable and exciting adventure!
Under the leadership of DG Prince Henry Akinyele (District 9111) and DG Lanre Adedoyin (District 9112), Rotarians, Rotaractors and friends set out on a journey that began from the Lagos train stations — some boarding from the Mobolaji Johnson Train Station, Ebute Metta, and others from the Babatunde Raji Fashola Station, Agege — all converging at the Professor Wole Soyinka Train Station, Abeokuta.
Upon arrival, participants embarked on a bus tour around the historic city of Abeokuta, marking the official start of the adventure.
Of course, it wasn’t just about the train ride — the experience offered much more. The group visited the iconic Olumo Rock, where the *End Polio Now* campaign was officially flagged off atop the mountain, symbolizing the determination to indeed eradicate polio

The day continued with a lively picnic and a spirited Polio Awareness Walk, further reinforcing Rotary’s commitment to eradicating polio
