Highlights from the Rotary Action Group, Lagos Chapter Media Briefing

District 9112 celebrates another membership victory as Baale Adeshola Makinde, the Baale of Ifako Ijaiye, was officially inducted as a Rotarian and became a member of the Rotary Club of Ikeja-Alausa Central during the Rotary Action Group’s Media Briefing in Lagos.

Additionally, Baale Adeshola was honored as a peace ambassador.During the media briefing, the District Governor of Rotary International District 9112, Rotarian Lanre Adedoyin, along with Past President Omotunde Olaleye and the Coordinator of the Rotary Action Group for Peace, Lagos State Chapter, Rtn. Dr. Adebukunola Soile-Balogun, were honored as Child Rights Protectors.

DG Rotarian Lanre emphasized the critical importance of peace in his remarks. He highlighted that Rotarians are proactive individuals ready to tackle challenges and underscored the necessity of peace across all sectors, describing it as the foundation for every endeavor. “Let us embrace peace initiatives and collaborate with those who champion peace,” he urged.

In her remarks, Rtn. Dr. Adebukunola Soile-Balogun, the Coordinator of the Rotary Action Group for Peace, Lagos State Chapter, discussed the concept of peace and the group’s mission to coordinate Rotary’s humanitarian efforts aimed at promoting peace in Nigeria.

Other speakers at the Media Briefing include- Dr. Pastor Mrs Oluwatoyin Ojejinmi, Lagos State Chairperson, Partnership Against Violence Extremism (PAVE), Director Research Planning and Strategy in WOWICAN Lagos State; B. Alhaji. Rasheed Awofeso Community Leader, Kosofe LGA, The chairman, Ifesowopo Community Development Association; Amb. Alhaji Lateef Akinborode, Igbogbo Community Leader, Community Women’s Rights Foundation.

The Media Briefing took place on Friday, October 31st, at the Jide Akeredolu Hall, Jonathan B Majiyagbe House, Rotary International District 9112, with numerous members of the press in attendance.
